LATTC students are eligible for healthcare services through our healthcare partner, Via Care Community Health Center. You can receive healthcare services on campus at our Student Health Center, at the Via Care East Cesar E. Chavez Clinic, or via telehealth.

LATTC is now partnered with TimelyCare to deliver a new virtual health and well-being platform for students. The service provides 24/7 access to virtual care at no cost!

Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)

What is the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)? 

The Behavioral Intervention Team, also known as BIT, is a multidisciplinary team responsible for supporting and responding to serious but non-immediate, non-emergency student concerns and behaviors. All LATTC Classified Professionals, Faculty, and Administrators are encouraged to report all concerning behaviors so that the BIT can document and track "red" flags over time and, ideally, proactively respond to a situation. BIT is not a crisis intervention team.  BIT submissions are NOT monitored 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Types of Observed Behaviors or Situations to Report
  • Anger and rage
  • Hysterical or emotional outbursts 
  • Eating disorders
  • Suicidal thoughts or ideations
  • Hopelessness, desperation
  • Anxiety, depression
  • Impulsive or rash behaviors
  • Bullying
  • Delusional or paranoid speech
  • Constant frustration
  • Yelling or disrespectful actions
  • Signs of distress 
  • Substance abuse
  • and many other behaviors that are disruptive or may pose harm to students or others

When in doubt about submitting a BIT referral, feel free to contact BIT at

BIT Reporting Cycle
  • Report is submitted 

  • BIT acknowledges report 

  • BIT reaches out to Student and/or Reporting Party

  • BIT formulates plan of action 

  • BIT follows up with referring party

Complete a request form if you would like BIT to provide a brief presentation at your upcoming department/unit meeting. Presentations are generally 30-minutes.
