Transfer Students

If you are a student currently studying in the United States with a valid I-20, you must provide a copy of your Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) acceptance letter to your current school and request they transfer your active SEVIS record to LATTC.

Here are the steps after your admission to Los Angeles Trade-Technical College:

If you have applied from outside of the U.S. your F-1 visa allows you to arrive here 30 days prior to your program start date. Arriving earlier will help you with acclimating to your new environment before the hectic start of the semester. It will also allow you to secure your housing, enroll for classes, take care of banking needs, apply for your driver’s license or CA ID card, etc. Remember that International Student Center is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. You need to bring your passport/visa page and your I-94 when you come to check in.

If you are an F-1 student transferring in from another U.S. institution and have travelled outside the U.S., you need to bring a copy of your I-94 on the check-in date, attend the International Student Orientation, and see our counselor to enroll for your classes.

If you are an F-1 student transferring in from another U.S. institution and haven’t travelled outside the U.S., all you need is to attend the International Student Orientation and see our counselor to enroll for your classes.

Pre-arrival academic counseling is available for students with access to a webcam, internet connection and personal or laptop computer. Smartphones and tablets are not compatible. Pre-arrival counseling is provided through Zoom or Cranium Café platforms, and will assist you in early class registration. Contact the International Student Services office at intstud@lattc.edu to schedule your appointment.

International students must complete the International Student Orientation. Attend an in-person International Student orientation scheduled a week or two prior to the beginning of the semester. This orientation will cover information about maintaining your status, academic policies, and college resources. not provided in the LAPC Online Orientation. The date for the International Student Program orientation will be provided to you at your college check-in appointment.

If you have not completed the pre-arrival online academic counseling, you must meet with our Academic Counselor to create your Student Education Plan (SEP). The SEP outlines the required classes to meet your academic goal. Contact the International Student Services office at @email to schedule your academic counseling appointment. Your appointment will be determined by your arrival date to Los Angeles.

You can view your class registration date in your Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Student Portal. Once logged in to your student portal, select the "Manage Classes" tile. From "Manage Classes," you can search for classes and add them to your cart and then enroll. Students needing help navigating "Manage Classes" can contact the International Student Services office at @email.

Tuition is payable through your Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Student Portal. Tuition payment due date is posted inside your portal.
