It was the most successful LATTC Foundation Student Benefit Dinner in history. It was a night where our students, our honorees, and our legacy as a community college were showcased and celebrated. The student benefit dinner raised more than $500,000 in one night, but it also raised Los Angeles Trade-Technical College image as an innovative leader in career education and one of building and providing opportunities for students. Our foundation leadership, including board president David Crippens deserves congratulations for creating an amazing evening. Our honorees, Sylvia Castillo (Union Bank Foundation), Brian D’Arcy (IBEW Local 18), Deborah Flint (LA World Airports), Todd Stevens (California Resources Corporation), and special LATTC alumnus Micky Dolenz (formerly of the Monkees), were gracious and giving of their name and time to support our fundraising for students. Of course, our culinary arts students led by department chair Chef Stacy Damaso and the culinary faculty, were incredible in their food presentation and service. For those of you who attended, the support is appreciated. The funds will support scholarships, Tools for the Trades, and so many other efforts.
