Trade Tech has always connected our students with career opportunity. This past week we had some great examples.
We’ve created innovative partnership with Nike. The company is launching a new apprenticeship program for LATTC students. Developed in collaboration with the City of Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, Pathway Innovation & Institutional Effectiveness, and Design and Media Arts Pathway, Nike will offer a six-month, fully-paid apprenticeship program at their headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Apprentices will be placed in full-time work positions with one of three teams: Apparel, Footwear, or Graphic Design. Not only will the interns selected, have access to multiple team and industry members but their transportation and housings costs will be paid by Nike. Applications are available now and current students and alumni are eligible. Submission of a portfolio will be required. The Pathway Team, including Joseph Guerrieri, Pathway Chair, and Armine Javadyan, Pathway Navigator, and DMA faculty will be working closely with Nike to ensure that students who are referred to the program are successful.
