Brief Course Description: Laboratory work to accompany Astronomy 1

Detailed Course Description: Provides the laboratory work to accompany or follow Astronomy 1. Includes constellation study, study of types of telescopes and other instruments, telescopic observations, simple surveying measurements, ephemeris and celestial globe study, planetary andsolar system astronomy, work with optical systems and spectroscopes, and reduction of data. Requires occasional field trips to nearby astronomical facilities.

PREREQUISITE: Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment: Astronomy 1.
