How To Connect to (Login or sign on) to the campus LAN:

1) Complete and submit a Network Access Request form with the MIS Department (A100, x437) to acquire a User Name and a Password.
2) Turn on your computer (If nothing happens, make sure the computer, monitor and printer are all plugged in and connected properly).
3) At the Novell Login window, input your USERNAME and PASSWORD (on your first attempt only, your PASSWORD will also be your USERNAME. You will then be asked to assign yourself your own unique password and to verify it.)
4) The computer will then display the View E76 Network Policy Y/N? window. Going past this point signifies your agreement with LACCD Administrative Regulation E-76: Use of District and College Computing Facilities, Issued 3/19/86 (revised 4/97), Educational Services.
. You may read this regulation by pressing the “Y” key, then the “Enter” key.
. You may bypass this window by pressing the “N” key, then the “Enter” key, or by pressing the “Esc” key.
5) The next screen will be the Windows Desktop with a series of icons representing various programs and applications available. At the bottom of the screen will be Task Bar with a Start button on the left and the current time displayed on the right.
6) You are now connected to the campus LAN. You may now use your campus Email account, the internet (www), DEC, MS Office applications, etc. |
