To help students get the most out of their higher education, the college provides tests that assess a student’s general educational background and skills in: Math, English and English as a Second Language.  These tests help students select the educational programs that are realistic and in line with their level of academic preparation and experience.  Trade-Tech currently offers a computerized assessment test called ACCUPLACER, which is available on a walk-in, first come, first serve basis in the R Building.  You will receive a copy of your assessment results and the counselors will use them to make course recommendations.

Some online students will not be able to come to LATTC to take this test. You may take the Accuplacer test at another community college and send the results to LATTC.

1. If you have taken the Accuplacer at another college within the last year, let us know the results.  If it was longer than 1 year ago, you need to take it again.
2. If you want to take the Accuplacer at another college, download and print the letter from our campus placement center.  Take it to one of the other colleges in California that does the Accuplacer test.  
3. Take the Accuplacer test, paying whatever fees they charge you (about $5) and fax the results to us.
