LATTC's Marketing Captures State Honors
Those in attendance said over and over again, that it has never happened before. Those attending the California Community College Public Relations Organization conference says no college has dominated its statewide awards in their first year of entry. But that's what happened last week. Los Angeles Trade-Technical College came away with an unprecedented EIGHT statewide awards including two first, three seconds and three thirds. The first place honors were given for Trade Tech's Radio PSA and also fittingly, Trade Tech was given the Charles Cropsey Photography Award for the best photo for any college publication. Our “Nails in Welding” which graces the president's conference room was tak en by Joe Messinger and with his impending retirement, it is a fitting tribute to a man who has contributed a whole lot to this college. Other awards included TV PSA, video promotion, internal newsletter, feature article, direct mailer and the low budget wonder. Trade Tech captured more marketing awards than ANY other college in Southern California, (take that Santa Monica, Mt. SAC and Chaffey) and re-established Los Angeles Trade-Technical College as a place on the move. I'd like to thank Joe Messinger and my assistant Roxanne for helping make us a leader in marketing among community colleges, and I'd also like to thank the Marketing Committee for their wonderful guidance and suggestions. These are accomplishments built by the hard work of the people who work at and attend this college, I'm just lucky enough to be given the job of packaging them. 080429 |
