LATTC Cosmetology Nails the Competition
The Los Angeles Trade-Technical College cosmetology department has established a reputation for being the very best in the state, both well-respected and well-prepared. Our students have done extremely well in competitions throughout the state. This month their skills dominated the 2008 Barristar Hair Show in Anaheim and the National Beauty Forum.
In the total team competition, LATTC placed first. Brenton Richard won a first place in hairstyling team competition. May See Fung won a first place in the make-up team competition. Martha Montano captured third place in the nail art team competition. The Master Teacher Award Plaque was also presented to the LATTC full-time Faculty for excellence in the Cosmetology Department. This team of students has a long list of accomplishments. Brenton Richard has competed in most cosmetology contests offered in Southern California and has even traveled to Atlanta, placing first in haircutting and hairstyling in most of the competitions he has entered. He has spent hours after school and on weekends honing his skills and preparing for his contests. May See Fung participated in her first competition winning a first place in the make-up category. She is equally accomplished in all aspects of cosmetology. She excels academically and has contributed to many special projects in the department. Martha Montano has competed several times in nails and has come away with a deserving win. She has put in many hours designing nail creations that are truly works of art. Marlene Arellano is currently enrolled as a freshman cosmetology student. Marlene was the model for this year's team and contributed greatly to its success.
