Trade Tech Dominates Cash for College Expo
More than 15,000 high school students crammed into the Los Angeles Convention Center trying to gather information about how to get from high school to college. The event is called Cash for College, and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College decided it was time to pump our visibility and viability as an option for higher learning. Trade Tech faculty and staff made sure our large presence was something to behold. We had four-to-six interactive trade presentations going on at every session. We gave out thousands of pieces of information about course offerings, EOPS, CalWorks and of course financial aid. We had raffles every 30 minutes. It was a display of commitment that no one had ever seen before at this event. Architectural technology, nanotechnology, chemical technology, automotive, sign graphics, cosmetology, fashion design and others were among the presenters. Students talked with prospective students about the school. We gathered 5000 names for our database, all potential future students. It was an amazing display of Trade Tech teamwork and momentum. 071010 |
