New Olive Street Parking Structure Opens
The long awaited Olive Street parking structure was opened effective Saturday, August 25th, according to Vice President of Administration, Carey Roth. It will provide 805 spaces for the college staff and students. The driveway entrance is on Olive Street, with the Grand Avenue crosswalk allowing access between the parking facility and the main campus. With the opening of the new structure, LATTC will no longer contract with the Glory Church of Jesus Christ for parking.
The F-Building roof parking will be reserved for faculty and staff and selected honor roll students. Trade Tech will continue to lease the O-Lot parking on 23rd street from the Orthopedic Hospital and the A-Lot at the south/west corner of Grand Avenue and 17th Street will remain open. With the exception of the F-Building roof parking and the three levels of the Olive Street parking structure all lots will be open to students, faculty and staff on a first come basis. The first floor of the new structure will be reserved for handicapped, special needs, VIP and some staff parking. For a full schedule of the hours of operation and other details, refer to the Parking@LATTC page. During the initial weeks of operation parking monitors will be on hand to assist motorists. We will also have information about the parking strategy once the fall session starts. The facility was constructed as a result of bond funds, and was managed by Anil Verma Associates Incorporated. 070814
