Scrubs Tour Makes Stop at LATTC
The “Make It In Scrubs" Tour made a stop at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College . The Wellness Program wanted to give journalists a sense of the challenges facing the health care industry featuring the aspects of service, coverage and education. The tour stopped at Trade Tech to catch a glimpse of our nursing program. LACCD trustees Warren Furutani and Sylvia Scott-Hayes outlined the district's commitment to health-related education. Nursing department head Margaret Avila talked about our program and its efforts to train nurses, so they can enter the workforce and move on to other training. President Chip Chapdelaine talked about the college's commitment to nursing and health care industry. Then the journalists watched as Trade Tech nursing students worked on some high-tech mannequins, handling such techniques as drawing blood and checking a pulse.
