Employers Bring Jobs to LATTC Campus
Students meet with prospective employers at the LATTC Job Fair. One of the largest college-based job fairs took place on the campus of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. More than 100 companies from Dennys to Hilton to AEG were in attendance, and so were hundreds of jobseekers. Many of those dressed for success, talked with representatives from numerous companies about positions and training. Local cable media channel 35 was in attendance talking with students and business people. One of the best stories of the day surrounded one of the recruiters. MWH Laboratories was in attendance trying to place chemists and project managers, and the company representative was named Yolanda Martin. She is a 1987 graduate of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College's Chem Tech program. It was a great homecoming for her. She had a wonderful time talking with current Trade students.  Deputy Dodd and her sheriff's office staff did a tremendous job handling parking and the crowd flow. The recruiters had an easy time setting up and speaking with prospective employees. It was a milestone event, based on the hard work of Helen Beaird and her staff at the student employment center. 070517
