Cadet Honored by LACCD Board
Photo: Cadet Jose Salgado. One of the LATTC family has been recognized by the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees. Our very own Cadet Jose Salgado was one of the district's nine nominees for “Cadet of the Year” putting him in a very elite group, since there are more than 100 cadets serving the nine college campuses. Jose was born in Guerrero , Mexico and his family moved to the U.S. when he was just 1 year-old. After living in San Diego , he moved with his family to Los Angeles when he was 8. A few years later, he became involved in the LAPD Explorer Program. After high school, Jose joined the Marine Corps and he's expected to be deployed next year. In the meantime, he has been a student at Trade Tech and a cadet since 2005. He's working on his liberal arts degree. He plans to become a deputy sheriff once his military service is complete. Deputy Diane Dodd says of Cadet Salgado, “I wish they made them all like him.” Congratulations Cadet Salgado. 070501
