Denim Day Tackles a Serious Issue
Awareness of sexual violence and the need to change certain laws took center stage during Denim Day held at LATTC. It was part of a week's worth of events held to draw attention to personal health and safety, part of the LACCD's Wellness Program. Dozens of members of the Trade Tech family wore denim in a show of solidarity on these issues. EAP coordinator and event organizer Ashraf Hosseini welcomed participants and reminded them about the need for awareness. Our own Trade Tech cosmetology students provided haircuts and manicures for some of the participants. There was food and information being offered all day. The culmination was the wellness walk around campus where about 40 members of the LATTC family carried signs asking people to remember sexual assault victims and to work diligently to make our current laws fair and responsive. 070425
