Art By Non-Artists On Display
Humanities instructor Carolie Lopez and some of her students with their art projects. "Quick Study," an exhibition of art and writing from Evening Humanities classes, will be up at the Fishbowl Gallery (bottom floor of D Building) through mid-January. Work in the show was inspired by cultures studied in Humanities 1 and 2 (with the participation of Thursday evening Art class). The students, most without any formal art training, worked in both two and three dimension creating drawings, water color, collage and sculpture. At first some students thought an assigned project was, “So simple that my 5-year-old could do it.” When they found out there was more involved than they expected, the students gained a new appreciation for artistic expression.
