Fashion Center Presents Avant Garde
Avant Garde, the fall 2006 edition of the twice annual Gold Thimble Fashion show sashayed down a longer than normal runway backed by a sparse set featuring an unadorned theater wall. The look was industrial, the music lively and the clothes cutting edge.

Mistress of ceremony, Cynthia Morley-Mower greeted the crowd of anxious fashion students, their families and other supporters. She introduced LATTC President “Chip” Chapdelaine, decked out in a fashionable tan western suit and cowboy boots, who expressed words of congratulations to the students and was obviously looking forward to his first Gold Thimble show.

The theme category, Avant Garde, was first down the runway. Following the show, under the direction of supervising instructors Hyein Kim and Delia Moya Thornton, gold, silver and bronze thimbles were awarded to the winning designers. 061219
