385 Pound All-American Heavyweight Uplifts LATTC
Coach John Budinger with his All American, Adrian UngarteTrade Tech's Adrian Ungarte has been named “All-American” in weightlifting by the National Strength and conditioning Association (NSCA) He was selected among 242 standout athletes from 160 schools.  Ungarte can bench-press 385 pounds.  He is the first All-American weightlifting champion from Los Angeles Trade-Technical College .  NSCA recognizes the hard work and effort of athletes for “dedication to strength training and conditioning.”  “He was one of the hardest working students in the class,” proudly said John Budinger, an instructor of Physical Education at the College and Ungarte's coach.

The champion does not plan to go out for All-American this year but he is spreading the vibe to a local high school where students ask how they can become All-Americans.  Ungarte tells the students to have a strong work ethic and to believe in themselves and never give up.

Coach Budinger stated he recognized the qualities of an All-American in Adrian Ungarte early on.  “He's focused on his future.  He wants to be a coach, probably a football coach,” gleaned Budinger, a very proud coach. 061214
