Cosmetologists Put On The Ritz
The name of the show was Putting On The Ritz and put it on they did. Trade Tech's Cosmetology Department had the Grand Theater jumping with the second annual Red Carpet hair show Thursday, December 7. Hair, makeup, fingernails and costumes were on display being modeled by students who had gone into hair and makeup hours earlier. Using dye by the bucket and hairspray by the case the students combed, and snipped, teased, sprayed and shaped. Several students worked on one model and models already made up and styled were hard at work applying their creations to other models faces and heads.
Now it was show time, up came the music, down went the lights and the students and friends took to the runway. They let the packed house know they were ready to get down and party. Act after act took the stage, each more outrageous or glamorous than the previous, they strutted their stuff. The show began with the Egyptians followed by Bossi Munecas, Las Vegas and other acts. Sondra Shackelford and Lidia Lye co-chaired the show, with Toiyuan Forte handling the choreography. Brandon Robinson and Quan Pierce acted as Masters of Ceremonies. 061208 |
