Trade Tech Participates in Truck Show
“This is an opportunity for us to meet people in the industry,” said Mike Cavanaugh, Instructor, Diesel and Related Technology as he surveyed the scene at the Los Angeles Convention Center the last weekend of September. He and other instructors from the LATTC Automotive Trades manned an information booth at the International Trucking Show., presented by the California Trucking Association. The instructors attending the show are able to make contact with industry leaders willing come to the college and speak to the students about the latest technology. They also make valuable donations to the college and serve on advisory committees. It's also considered a good recruiting ground for students. "Our industry is drastically short of mechanics with excellent opportunities for journeymen as well as entry level mechanics," Cavanaugh said. Also in attendance from the college were instructors Jess Guerra, Rudy Serrato and George Spear. 060929 |
