Governor … Sign That Bill!
Speaking at a press conference, held at Trade Tech, September 6, State Senator Gilbert Cedillo D-Los Angeles, District 22 called upon Governor Schwarzenegger to sign the “California Dream Act” (SB 160). The senator was flanked by students from LATTC and neighboring four-year colleges, some of whom spoke in support of the bill. Community leaders from the Mexican American Legal Defense & Education Fund (MALDEF), Salvadorian American Leadership & Education Fund (SALEF), the Los Angeles Archdiocese and the L. A. Chamber of Commerce also joined Cedillo on the podium. SB 160 is a bill that would allow “AB 540” students to apply for student aid at California's public colleges and universities. 060906
