Demolition Projects Nearing Completion
Major demolition projects are nearly complete at Trade Tech. Construction on the two South Campus towers is scheduled to begin in October this year after the demolition of the PTA Building and the Coffee House is completed sometime in September. Workers, using heavy equipment, could be seen tearing down the three-story PTA Building while the Coffee building awaits its demise.
The South Campus project, which includes two five-story towers, reorienting the athletic field and construction of an underground parking garage, is the largest of the Prop A-AA construction projects at Trade Tech. Modern “smart” classrooms and offices will be housed in the towers, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2009. An entrance to the campus will be created between them on Grand Avenue. The Blue Line hides the current entrance to the college on Washington Boulevard. 060629
