What is a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant?
An FSEOG is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need-this is the students with the lowest EFCs and gives priority to students who also receive federal Pell Grants. An FSEOG doesn't have to be paid back.
What's the difference between and FSEOG and a Federal Pell Grant?
The U.S. Department of Education guarantees that each school will receive enough money to pay the federal Pall grants of its eligible students. There's no guarantee that every eligible student will receive an FSEOG. Students at each school will be awarded SEOG funds based on availability of funds at each school.
How much money can I get?
You can receive between $100 and $4000 a year depending on when you apply, your need, and the funding level of the school you're attending.
Trade Tech awards $500 per year to students who are eligible for FSEOG because of limited funds.
How will I be paid?
FSEOG payments are mailed directly to you at the mailing address you have on file with the Admissions Office once each semester. You'll receive $250 for the fall semester and $250 for the spring semester. The FSEOG payment may be combined with your Pell Grant into one check.
