How will our current special part-time K-12 students be exempted?

Our current special part-time K-12 students that were admitted prior to July 1, 2007 will have a nonresident tuition exemption if they are taking 11 units or less for terms through and including the Summer 2008 term. This is the “grandfathering” provision which will give our continuing special part-time K-12 students a reasonable time to retain the nonresident tuition exemption (i.e., for 11 units or less) that they had when they were first admitted.

Please note that starting the Fall 2008 semester, all special part-time K-12 students who are nonresidents-- even those who were admitted prior to July 1, 2007-- will be subject to the nonresident tuition fee if they are taking more than six units. As of the Fall 2008 semester, there will be a uniform policy of exempting all nonresident students taking six units or less from the nonresident tuition fee, regardless of when such students were originally admitted.
