Current Program
The Student Center creates student and staff
identification cards, coordinates student government activities
and the Dean's Award ceremonies, sponsors the graduation ceremony
and student breakfast, facilitates student government elections,
organizes student activities on campus and coordinates student
clubs.
Personnel - One faculty member, one full-time
classified employee and two student employees are assigned
to the Student Center.
Equipment - At this time a copy machine is
in need of repair and a new scanner is needed.
Facilities - The current location in the basement
of the K Building is not ideal but it is adequate in size
and could use a fresh coat of paint. The Center should be
located in a more visible location at ground level.
Future Program
It is expected that the Student Center will
increase in size at the same rate as the overall college enrollment
in both the mid term (five years) and long term (ten years).
Personnel - See Projected Faculty and Staff
Needs.
Equipment - In the mid term the following
items will need to be replaced: computers, copier, printers,
shredders, DVD/TV/VCR.
Facilities - Moving the Center out of the
basement would make it more visible and accessible to students.
A larger common area and more office space would be helpful.
Staff Development - Topics for future Staff
Development workshops could include customer service training
and yearly staff retreats.
