Los Angeles City College
Since 1929, LACC has helped students transfer to competitive universities as juniors, enter high-paying careers and advance on the job. Our alumni are notable educators; civic leaders and politicians; business leaders; Oscar, Emmy and Grammy winners; medical and technology professionals; and front-line staffers. Our math and debate teams are nationally recognized and our basketball program has been rated one of the best in the country.
The Los Angeles City College (LACC) Workforce Readiness Academy prepares limited English proficient, economically disadvantaged, and other non-traditional college students for attainment of essential knowledge, skills and abilities critical for successful acquisition and retention of employment, and effective exploration, planning and development of career ladder pathways leading to growth opportunities in high demand occupations.
The Mission: Creating Career Ladder opportunities leading to employment, advanced education, and career progression through short-term Workforce Literacy, Basic Skills, Job Readiness and Vocational Training programs.
The focus of the Workforce Readiness Academy is to promote the participation of special populations students in non-credit workforce education programs as the first step in the career ladder of success towards attaining economic self-sufficiency, with subsequent career ladder progression to credit, career technical education (CTE) skill certificates, certificates, and associate degree programs.
Academy education and training programs encompass over 30 non-credit Skills Certificates of Competency and Completion, and over 80 courses in Customer Service, Basic Education and Computing skills, English as a Second Language (ESL), Vocational ESL, Workforce Literacy and Job Readiness skills, and associated Short-Term Vocational Training for high demand jobs in high growth industries such as the healthcare, child development, hospitality and retail sectors. Other high demand Academy programs include Citizenship Services and Entrepreneurship skills training.
Of the 30+ non-credit Skills Certificates of Competency and Completion, 12 are categorized as the first step in a Career Ladder Pathway, with transition potential to 15 credit Skill Certificates, 14 Certificates, and 10 Associate Degrees. Presently, curriculum for over 30 non-credit Career Exploration and 30 Vocational ESL courses are in development, and are focused on promotion of the 30 career technical education disciplines in existence at LACC.

Los Angeles Southwest College
Los Angeles Southwest College (LASC) is committed to providing an environment for quality learning to enrich the lives of our diverse population. A two-year college, LASC awards associate degrees in 34 disciplines, as well as occupational certificates in 47 disciplines. LASC offers an array of programs to meet community needs – college transfer, occupational, general education, transitional, continuing, community services and joint programs. The campus is the site of Middle College High School, enabling high school students to take college courses for credit.

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College
Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) is a public community college offering associate degree and certificate programs to its very diverse student population. LATTC offers students a positive learning environment that promotes diversity, critical thinking and real-life experiences.
The Bridge to Success Office serves a variety of needs for LATTC students. One is the Bridge to College Program which gives high school students the opportunity to concurrently enroll in college courses while still in high school free of cost. The purpose of the program is to provide advanced scholastic academic work that is applicable to advanced studies at two or four year programs. Additionally, students become familiar with the college experience while still in high school.
A second primary function of Bridges to Success is the Non-Credit Department. Students are able to enroll in a variety of classes, free of cost in such areas as English as a Second Language, Citizenship, Basic Computers, Parenting, Basic Skills, and other Vocational Education courses.

Los Angeles Valley College
Los Angeles Valley College was created and developed to meet the tremendous growth of the San Fernando Valley during the 40's and early 50's. The college was officially chartered by the Los Angeles Board of Education in June of 1949. Valley opened its doors on September 12, 1949 and was located on the campus of Van Nuys High School.
