LATTC Construction Update
September 30, 2008

Expo Line
Construction on the Expo Line is continuing along Flower Street. MTA officials are telling us that starting later this week and over the weekend (mostly in the evening hours), crews will begin moving the traffic from the far eastside lanes (closest to LATTC property) to the far westside lanes (closest to the car dealerships). Access to the F-Lot, the automotive and welding driveways, and the receiving department will still be available, but cars may have to move across metal plates and temporary asphalt to access those areas.

Blue Emergency Phones
We still have some issues with the new campus emergency phones. The Olive Street Parking Structure phones are not completely online yet. Power was accidentally cut to the phone in the K-Mall. Repairs are underway. It should be pointed out the blue emergency phone near the C-building is operating quite well. It captured some critical images during some suspected criminal activity in the C-building last week.

Modular Village
While tenants of the Modular Village are trying to adjust to the new offices, some improvements are underway. Discussions are going on currently about the re-configuring of the modular restrooms, to accommodate more students. Allied Health has requested a tent and some chairs outside of its modular, also as a way to accommodate students. Also, all of the window blinds have been installed.

A Building
Some questions were raised about asbestos removal in the East Wing of the A Building. The East Wing environment actually has been sealed off from the West Wing, so no dust or debris will move into the West Wing.

Questions about construction can be emailed to: ysaisdp@lattc.edu
Those questions will be passed along to the proper staff and answers will be sent along as soon as possible.
