EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

  • ACG & AVA was an Oak sponsor of the First Annual Earth Walk in honor of LACCD and its commitment to “green” building principles. The walk was held on April 23, 2005 and began at 5 th and Flower Streets and ended at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. The walk concluded with a tree-planting ceremony at the College.
  • On April 20, 2005, the CPM and Scorpio performed a final punch list walk through of the Auto Metal building second floor for all pending items. The only items pending are the telephone handsets, fiber optics and Siemens control items. The CPM is working with Scorpio and TDM Architects to resolve these issues.
  • DSA comments on the South Campus Fire Life Safety and Accessibility plans have been released to MDA JF, while the Structural plans are undergoing DSA review. CSS constructability review comments on the Civil and Architectural plans have been released to MDA JF.
  • CSS has completed the F Ramp 100% CD constructability review. The CPM has reviewed their comments and transmitted them to the architect for incorporation into their plans and specifications. The F Ramp 100% plans are currently undergoing DSA review.
  • On April 6, 2005 the Board of Trustees approved the Olive Street Parking Structure design/build contract with ARB, Inc. A pre-design meeting was held with ARB on April 7, 2005 to finalize the contract alternates and projected contract cost reductions for the project.
  • The CPM transmitted building G and J 100% CD technical review comments to Pugh Scarpa Kodama (PSK) on April 12, 2005 for incorporation into their plans.
  • Effective May 2, 2005, Jerry Hostalek, DMJGM/JGM Area Program Manager for LATTC, will be reassigned to his corporate office at Jenkins, Gales Martinez. Ms. Roshni Thomas will replace Mr. Hostalek as the DMJM/JGM Area Program Manager for the LATTC project.
  • Effective May 2, 2005, Maria Carvajal, Senior Construction Manager for the CPM was reassigned to her corporate office at HNTB Architects. Mr. Ken Shah, PE, will replace Ms. Carvajal as the Senior Construction Manager for the CPM.
Project Title Status

Auto Metal Building - HVAC Upgrade and Modernization -

IN CONSTRUCTION

Pkg 1: LACCD Payment for final Change Order pending.

Pkg 2: Substantial Punch list completion continues. Pending items are the Fiber Optics and telephone equipment/systems installation.

Pkg 3: Work on the punch list items for Package 3 are still pending

Amount Encumbered - $5.90M

Next Milestone date - Substantial punch list pending items tentatively scheduled for early May.

Construction Technology Yard -

IN CONSTRUCTION

An RFC for Change Order # 1 for rain delays and the completion of the Modular Facility is scheduled for BOT approval May 2005.

Amount Encumbered - $0.47M

Next Milestone date - Substantial completion is scheduled for 5/6/05.

F-Ramp -

DESIGN PHASE

The 100% CD package was submitted for DSA review on 3/28/05.

Amount Encumbered - $0.31M

Next Milestone date - Constructability review concurrent with DSA review.

Gymnasium -

DESIGN PHASE

The incorporation of comments for G & J drawing packages are scheduled for submittal by 4/29/05.

Amount Encumbered - $1.1M

Next Milestone date - 100% CD package scheduled for submittal to DSA by 5/16/05.

South Campus -

Demolition,

North & South Building, Subterranean Parking & Athletic Field,

On/Off Site Improvements - DESIGN PHASE

100% CD Documents still being reviewed by DSA.

Constructability review continues. CPM has requested that CSS expedite the previously scheduled 90 day review period. CSS to submit a revised completion for the CPM's review.

Constructability review for the LEED™ was completed on 4/29/05.

Amount Encumbered - $7.86M

Next Milestone date - CPM to review the LEED™ Constructability review comments and forward the package to MDA JF.

Olive Street Parking Garage

ARB was awarded the design/build contract on 4/6/05.

Amount Encumbered - $0.28M

Next Milestone date - The NTP is scheduled for issuance by May 2005.

Auto Metal Building - Solar PV Panel

DESIGN PHASE

The CPM has assisted Siemens to assemble the electrical billing history of LATTC for the 2004/2005 year for calculation of pay-back performance.

Amount Encumbered - $0.089M

Next Milestone date - Approval of the Solar Power Incentive Program Form

  • Prop A & AA Bond Fund Amount including Interest & State Contributions: $ 240.13 Million
