1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
  • On 4/30/04, a preliminary review of the Cost Section of the CPM Rebasline effort took place with Raymond Saavedra & Jerry Hostalek of DMJM/JGM. Raymond approved the submittal and an electronic copy was forwarded to DMJM for further review.
    Minor adjustments to summary schedule may be required for DMJM district wide adjustments.

  • Auto-Metal Building Package 2 construction is in progress. Please refer to 'Section 2.0-Projects in Construction' for further details.

  • A decision was made by LATTC to select TRC-EASI as special consultant to lead the Campus Wide
    Security and Safety Master Plan.

  • The CPM is in the process of preparing the Campus Wide HAZMAT Survey Contract.

  • Additional properties were added to expand the land acquisition program from 9 properties to 12 properties for East LATTC Campus.

  • DSA Approval was granted for the Construction Tech Yard Building on 5/11/04. CPM is coordinating efforts between the Design Consultant, AWA and DMJM/JGM to get the documents Bid Package ready.

  • Kerry Kastner, Scheduler for the CPM has resigned. CPM is currently interviewing other schedulers.

  • After the demolition phase, Package 1 of the Auto Metal Building the IOR discovered deflection on the roof beams. X- Ray of the structural slab for slab composite analysis, Radar tests to determine depth of slab & core sampling of topping slab and of structural slab were coordinated by the CPM. Results of these tests were forwarded to TDM, the A/E firm, for a DRAFT structural analysis which is due in early June. CPM is working with TDM in obtaining additional structural information on the Auto Metal Building for the structural analysis and possible structural deficiencies of the existing structure.

Next Milestone date - 6/07/04- NTP for 100% CD Phase will commence.
Construction Technology Yard Documents received DSA Approval.

Next Milestone date - 7/29/04- Pre-Bid Conference scheduled.
Auto Metal Building- PV Panel PV system Proposal 3 by Siemens was chosen. RFC has been removed from BOT Agenda.

Next Milestone date - 6/09/04- Siemens will be awarded the contract.
Auto Metal Building Work on Package 1 is complete. Work on Package 2 Underway. Amount Encumbered - $ 4.67M
Next Milestone date - 6/07/04- Package 3 Work is scheduled to begin.
Auto Metal Building- HVAC Upgrade and Modernization Approval signatures for RFC for pre-acquisition entitlements and studies for 9 prospective properties are still pending. 3 additional properties have been added to this list.

Land Acquisition RFC for pre-acquisition entitlements and studies for 9 prospective properties LATTC would possibly acquire in the future has been submitted for BOT Approval.
Amount Encumbered - $10.69 M
Gymnasium Complex RFC for HazMat Survey of Gym submitted for approval. Meeting with Management took place to finalize alternatives for design.

Next Milestone date - 6/10/04 - Finalize DD Package Scope & Cost Estimate.
F Ramp 50% CD was issued to KAI.

Next Milestone date - 6/11/04- Structural Analysis Review.

Following is a cost status summary:

  • Encumbered Amount: $ 32.27 Million
  • Prop A Bond Fund Amount: $ 143.52 Million
  • % Encumbered: 22.48 %

    Total funds available for Prop 'A' Projects: $ 143.52 Million
    Total estimated Project Cost: $ 152.49 Million

    Funds needed: $ 8.97 Million. (This amount includes cost for additional LATTC vested Scope of Work as of April 2004.)

Schedule Status

The CPM is currently involved with finalizing schedules for the upcoming rebaseline.
