How Many Units to Take
Unit Loads: Normal and Maximum
Normal study load per semester
- Fall/Spring: 12-18 units for full-time students.*
- To take more than 19 units must obtain approval from the Registrar through a petition.
*Those students who will be employed while attending college should consider reducing their classes accordingly. It is suggested that those students who are employed full-time should enroll in no more than one or two classes or 9 units maximum.
Maximum study load per semester
- Fall/Spring: 19 units for full-time students
- Summer: 9 units in two summer sessions
- Winter: 7 units
