BILL ROBLES
has almost 40 years of experience as a courtroom artist and illustrator.
He has mastered the art of on-the-spot drawing and illustration,
working for a strict and unyielding taskmaster: television news.
The immediacy of working feverishly in the courtroom to capture
images quickly on paper brings an adrenaline rush that is both
exciting and motivating. Then, suddenly, it is over. His drawings are
transferred to the satellite and instantly broadcast around the world.
Bill finds all of this a provocative and satisfying process. His client
list includes: CNN, CBS, NBC, FOX, the Associated Press and
many other news organizations.
Not only a courtroom artist, his illustration work has been
commissioned by many different clients and venues.
In 1981,
he was selected by NASA to be on site to document the first four
space shuttle missions. He creates portraiture, advertising art,
and editorial art for print publication.
A native of Los Angeles, Bill received his Bachelor of Arts Degree
from Art Center College of Design.
He has been nominated for an
Emmy. He has received a Gold Medal from the Los Angeles Art Directors
Club. Additionally, he has received awards from the New York and Los Angeles
Society of Illustrator organizations and also from Communication Arts
