Essay: Running
The 1st paragraph in  red  (introduction) reflects the four  Sub-Topics marked with  pink.  The next three paragraphs expand the essay by using the the white circled topics to provide details and/or examples.

Clustering or diagramming: Sample of brainstorming and organization
 
The actual organization and writing would look something like this:
  1. Paragraph #1: three to four sentences are created from the "Pink subtopics."  For example: "Running is a physical and mental punishment.  It is difficult to work into my already busy schedule  Don't believe what runners say; it is a painful experience."  The sentences in the blue above would be your "introductory paragraph."
  2. Paragraph #2: Five to six sentences that explain and provide examples about planning problems.
  3. Paragraph #3: Five to six sentences that explain and provide examples about pain.
  4. Paragraph #4: five to six sentences that explain and provide examples about no high.
  5. Paragraph #4: Two to five sentences that restate what you said in Paragraph #1, the introductory paragraph.

Clustering or diagramming: Blank Cluster Chart. 
Use the blank cluster chart below to generate an essay of your own.  Keep the topic simple and your sentences uncomplicated.  To communicate one does not have to have long sentences with complex words.  Keep your writing simple, and your essay will impart what you are trying to communicate.
