The pre-writing brainstorming chart above allows the writer to add additional ideas randomly.  However, the brainstorming chart below limits additional ideas.  Because as more ideas pop into the writers head, it becomes more difficult to add ideas below, for the list becomes too complex.  On the other hand, the bubble chart above allows the writer to draw lines and add bubbles in a 360 degree area as you will soon discover when you move on to the page on "Essays."

Print out the cluster chart below and fill-in your own cluster chart or use the list above by placing word(s) that will generate sentences in the white circles.  The red circle is the topic (drinking).  The yellow circles indicate possible "paragraphs."  Keep the topic simple and your sentences uncomplicated.  To communicate one does not have to have long sentences with complex words.  Keep your writing simple, and your essay will impart what you are trying to communicate.
