Procedures BACK TO TOP

MEDIA EQUIPMENT CHECKOUT BASICS
» PLEASE DO NOT MOVE MEDIA SERVICES EQUIPMENT WITHOUT CONCENT OF MEDIA SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE. There are many times, due to personnel availability, equipment will be left in a room the previous night for a morning class the following morning. Media Services equipment can be identified by either a sticker indicating Media Services as the owner (stating that the equipment is "For Daily Check-out Only") and/or "M-174" spray painted on the side.
» Equipment Checkout Requests may be submitted via email (media@lattc.edu) or by phone at 213-763-3684 (or x3684 for on-campus calls).
» Priority is on a first come, first serve basis - however, those with fewer requests may take priority over those in need of media equipment regularly.
» Please submit your media request at least 2 BUSINESSDAYS IN ADVANCE, as to ensure your equipment request may be met or so that Media Services can notify you otherwise.
» No Media Equipment may leave campus grounds at any time.
» We ask that Media Equipment not be reserved for ALL or MOST class meetings in a semester. If you need a media player for each class, please contact your Department Chair to discuss any possible room change, into which there may be dedicated equipment or the purchasing of new equipment.
» Equipment may not be checked out for the duration of a semester. Please discuss the purchasing of equipment needed regularly with your Department Chair.

GUIDELINES FOR DUPLICATING MEDIA
» All BULK MEDIA requests MUST include adequate amount of like-media from a Name Brand Manufacturer (Sony, TDK, JVC, Maxell, Fuji, etc), and MUST match the Runtime of the Master Copy.
NOTE: All VHS requests are duplicated in "SP" Mode (the slowest setting). Most VHS tapes indicate the Total Runtime as "T-###" (For example: T-120 = 120 minutes). Assess your Runtime needs and purchase accordingly.
» COPYRIGHT CLEARANCE: I certify that the media duplication needed per this request does not violate the copyright laws of the United States and that I/we are not copying materials to circumvent normal payment for instructional materials. I accept all responsibility for proper use of the completed materials for presentation in the classroom. I further certify these are not preview materials that may be lawfully copied.
