Philosophy
A central goal of the Writing Center is to assist students with the
writing process than to serve as editors. Typically, students will be asked to describe their
assignment and topic and provide a draft of their paper.
The Writing Center tutors attempt to create a
positive environment for learning.
They work one-on-one with each student to develop his or her own
ideas without taking control of the assignment. Tutors help with overall
critical thinking, organization, and general writing mechanics.
