Stan Arterberry
is Chancellor of the West Valley-Mission Community College
District. Located in the heart of Silicon
Valley, the two-college District enrolls more than 20,000
students per semester and serves thousands of others in off-campus
classes. As Chief Executive Officer, Chancellor Arterberry
manages the District's multi-college educational programs
and operations, and oversees an annual budget of over $100
million. Stan Arterberry holds a B.A. from Whittier College
in California and an M.A. in Sociology from Atlanta University
in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as a certificate from Harvard
University's Institute for Educational Management. He is
also a community college alumnus, having graduated from Imperial
Valley College, Imperial, California.

Ramona Kincaid is the Acting Dean of Instruction and
University Center Director at Kaua`i Community College,
on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Ramona received a
BA in Geography/ Cartography from the University
of Missouri-Columbia. She spent 10 years as an Engineering
Draftsperson/Technician in the private and public
sectors. After acquiring an MLIS from the University
of Hawaii at Manoa, Ramona became a solo librarian
at the Marine Minerals Technology Center. She also
had an information business that automated engineering
libraries from 1991 to 1993. In 1993 she became the
Reference Librarian at Kaua`i Community College where
she was active in library instruction and distance
learning projects. In 1999 she received a Certificate
in Telecommunications and Information Resource Management.
Ramona accepted a position as Acting Assistant Dean
of Instruction and University Center Director in
January 2002. As the Assistant Dean she oversees
Academic Support units such as the Library, Media
Services, interactive TV classrooms, Cooperative
Education, the Learning Center, Think/Write lab,
Instructional Technology, etc.. As the University
Center Director, Ramona facilitates access to upper
division programs via distance learning for Kauai
residents.

Albert Moore is the
Special Assistant to the Chancellor of the West Valley-Mission
Community College District
in Saratoga, CA. He received his BA in anthropology
from Dickinson College, where he was inducted into
the Alpha Chapter of Pennsylvania of Phi Beta Kappa.
Albert began his professional career as Assistant
Director of Student Life at Penn. Subsequently,
he served as Coordinator of Student Development at
San Francisco State University, Assistant Director
of the Center for Student Leadership at Santa Clara
University, and Associate Director of Admissions
at Holy Names College.
Albert's affiliation with the WVMCCD began when he
served as Director of Admissions and Records at West
Valley College. He was Classified Senate President
at the College from 1996-98 and has served as facilitator
of the District Council (highest District shared governance
body) since 1997. In 2001, Mr. Moore served as the
editor for West Valley and Mission Colleges' accreditation
self-studies and consulted with the Community College
League of California in implementing its policy and
procedure service. Albert served as a Team Assistant
for the San Joaquin Delta College Accreditation Team
in 2002. He lives in San Jose and his community service
includes serving as a Board member of the University
of Pennsylvania Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association,
as a docent at the Haas-Lilienthal House Museum in
San Francisco, and as an alumni admissions interviewer
for Dickinson College and the University of Pennsylvania. |

Tess Hansen has been teaching English at Foothill College
since 1991.
During that time, she has taught composition and Latino
literature,
served as Director of Multicultural Relations, and,
most recently,
co-coordinated the Puente Program. In addition to serving
as
Accreditation Liaison Officer for the college, she
also coordinates
the Interactive Learning Model Project, a research-based
program that
helps instructors improve student learning through
the use of a
learning styles inventory.

Consumnes River College
William Karns began his teaching career in 1975 as an
adjunct English instructor at California State University,
Sacramento and at Cosumnes River College. In 1981 he became
a full-time instructor at Cosumnes River College, serving
in the years that followed as English Department Chair
and Honors Program Coordinator. In the late 80's and early
90's he served first as Cosumnes River College Academic
Senate President and then as Los Rios Community College
District Academic Senate President. In 1992 he became the
Dean of Humanities and Social Science at Cosumnes River
College, serving in that capacity until December of 1996,
when he became the college's Vice President for Instruction
and Student Learning. He is the currently the Accreditation
Liaison Officer at Cosumnes River College and has served
on two accreditation visiting teams prior to the present. |

American River College
Dr. Walker is the Dean of Science and Engineering at
American River College. Before coming to American River,
she was the Dean of Health, Physical Education, Recreation,
Dance and Athletics at Cerritos College for 5 years.
She has also worked in a statewide community college
association as the Associate Commissioner for Athletics
for the Commission on Athletics.
Before her work in the community colleges, Dr. Walker
spent 15 years at the private and public four year colleges
in both academic and athletic leadership positions. She
received her bachelors' degree from Eastern Oregon University,
an M.A. from California State University, Sacramento
and her doctorate from the University of San Francisco. |
