Extended Opportunity Programs and Services
STAFF

Sheila Tishler, Director

I am honored to be the Director of the EOPS program at LATTC. I have the opportunity to meet students with all backgrounds who come to our campus to study and master vocational skills, earn a degree or transfer to the university.

EOPS is here to support, assist and encourage all of you as you pursue your goals. We offer assistance with detailed academic counseling, sensitive personal counseling and referrals, tutoring services, book grants and many other services.

I delight in observing the growth and success of dedicated, hard-working students as you progress from semester to semester. Then, best of all, I am privileged to cheer as each EOPS graduate walks across the stage to receive their certificate or degree at Graduation.

Lorna Green - EOPS Counselor/CARE Coordinator

Hello, I'm Lorna Bukasa (formerly Green). That's right; Ms. Green is now Mrs. Bukasa, just another example that life is full of change. I am one of your full-time EOPS Counselors, and I am also the CARE Coordinator. I love meeting with students, engaging in stimulating and honest dialogue and watching all the students grow and change. As a student you are in the midst of a major life change. Embrace the changes in your life, your new experiences, new information and new skills. Your finances and your daily schedule have changed and all this has created new demands and pressures for you, but you are not alone. EOPS/CARE is here for you. I am here for you. Changes bring wonderful and exciting opportunities and possibilities. You are becoming a stronger, wiser and better you, so together let's say "Bring on the change!"

Gliceria Rosario - EOPS Counselor

I took my masters degrees in Counseling Psychology and Pupil Personnel Services from Mount St. Mary's College in L.A. in order to help the numerous minority groups of L.A.'s population by providing all the available means to meet their physical, sociological, emotional, economical and spiritual needs. These degrees enabled me to attain the 2 necessary credentials to pursue my ideal career: Community College Counselor Credential and Instructor Credential in Psychology. I am currently an Associate Professor of counseling; an Extended Opportunity Program & Services (EOPS) Counselor at Trade Tech for 18 years; and Coordinator of field trips to 4 years university, hoping that the students we serve would aim for the highest dream of attaining a Bachelor's degree and change the world.

Kyle Skinner - EOPS Counselor

Greetings LATTC students! It is a pleasure to serve you and an honor to be your counselor. Many of you have come to know me as the "USC guy" because I obtained my Bachelors degree in English with a minor in Journalism from the University of Southern California. And for many years I served on the governing board for the Norman Topping Scholarship. It brings me great pleasure in helping students receive this prestigious scholarship having been a recipient myself. I also have a Masters degree in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from Loyola Marymount University. I have been a counselor at Trade Tech for eleven years. Time sure does fly when you are having fun.

I would like to encourage you to take your education very seriously because once you develop your mind, you will be equipped  to think for yourself and be very independent in your thoughts. One of my goals is to make you think, so I'll leave you with this: "People who avoid failure, also avoid success."

Ana Munoz - EOPS Counselor

  • Masters degree in Counseling from Cal State University Northridge
  • Support Counselor for probation students
  • I look forward to working with you to realize your educational goals
