MICROCOMPUTER TECHNICIAN I. T. ESSENTIALS
A+
Microcomputer Technician Certification
Today, most computer troubleshooting is performed at the keyboard using
knowledge about
the PC system. The
technician must have a good understanding of how the components and the
operating system
work together to build a
complete functional computer system. He no longer
needs to repair or
replace discrete electronic
components like resistors, capacitors, and
transistors. The
tech no longer uses electronic meters
to troubleshoot with, he simply replaces
defective units
such as the hard drive.
The A+ exam consists of two
parts, the first part, the core covers Microcomputers, Modems, Storage
Media, Buses and CD-Rom devices. It also covers installation and
configuration, upgrades diagnoses, repair, preventative maintenance, and
customer relations. The second part of the exam covers the software and
Operating System for microcomputers.
There is not an industry that operates
without a computer. Computers are found in clocks, automobiles, banks,
aircraft, televisions, satellites, ships, home appliances, offices, and
polices stations; just to mention a few of the places where you might find
a mini, micro or mainframe computer.
Some companies will no longer hire
technicians that are not A+ Certified. So if you are interested in working
in the exciting and rewarding computer field, come to Los Angeles Trade
Tech's Electronics Department, where you can be prepared to take and pass
the A+ Exam for a fraction of the cost you would have to pay at a private
institution. Simply register for the classes listed below (note the classes
