From the Office of the President
CONGRATULATIONS!
On February 14, 2008, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College received notice from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) that our annual Employee Commute Reduction Program (ECRP) for 2007 has been approved.
This important obligation of the college is due to all of your collective efforts, including the completion and return of the annual rideshare surveys distributed to all employees each October where you are asked to identify how you commute to work for a given week. Our goal each year is to receive a 90% response rate and calculate our Average Vehicle Ridership for all employees with a target goal of 1.50. For 2007, we reported 1.42, an increase from the 2006 figure of 1.40.
Keep in mind that for us to minimize our “carbon footprint” on the environment and to maximize the limited parking capacity on campus, we are all asked to consider alternative modes of transportation to work. Options include any combination of walking, biking, carpooling, taking the bus, the Metro Rail lines and/or the Metrolink trains as part or all of your commute.
As an incentive to do so, please be reminded that the college will subsidize up to $26.00 per month toward the cost of alternative methods of transportation to work. This includes the costs for any bus lines, the Metro Rail or Metrolink train passes.
For information, contact the Employee Transportation Coordinator, Bill Gasper, in A108, x7043, or gasperwj@lattc.edu.
