Desirable Qualifications

The Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District and the Academic Senate and the administration of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College is committed to employing faculty members who are expert in their subject areas, who are skilled in teaching and serving a diverse student population, and who can foster overall educational effectiveness.  Faculty must be sympathetic and sensitive to the racial and cultural diversity of the populations the college serves and they should generally reflect that diversity themselves.  In addition, faculty must be well prepared to respond to the educational needs of all the special populations served by the college.

Terms of Employment

Offers of adjunct employment are contingent on adequate class enrollment, the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications, adequate financing, the presumption that a full-time faculty member will not be required to take over the class to make up a full teaching load or another adjunct instructor with more seniority/priority will not be required to take over the class to (referred to as "bumping"). If the class is cancelled due to inadequate enrollment or the instructor will be paid for the hours taught prior to the class being cancelled.

FULL-TIME PROBATIONARY AND LIMITED TEACHING POSITIONS

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College routinely hires full-time instructors.  Openings are posted on the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) JOBS website  and on the California Community Colleges Registry (CCCR).

PART-TIME POSITIONS

To apply for a part-time teaching position mail (1) a letter of interest (brief letter indicating discipline(s) you are interested in teaching, summary of teaching experience, and summary of applicable occupational experience) and (2) a current resume (must include information on degrees obtained, date, and institution) to:
