Trade-Technical College welcomes your application as
an international student. If you have any questions

We will make every effort to assist you.
The applicant requirements for admission are as
follows:

Complete the attached supplemental "International
Student Application." (pdf)"

Submit two recent passport sized photographs.
-
Submit a copy of your valid passport
identification page.
-
Send an official
TOEFL
score directly from
Educational Testing
Services. The minimum score
requirements are a follows: paper based = 450,
computer based = 133, and internet based = 45.
In lieu of the TOEFL, you may also submit the
official results of an International English
Language Test Skills (IELTS) report with a
minimum 5 band score, or the Step Eiken with a
minimum 2A grade level. This language
requirement is waived if you are from a country
that uses English as the primary language in its
educational system. It is also waived if you
are currently studying at a school or college in
the U.S. with a valid I-20.

Submit official transcripts, certificates, or
diplomas from your secondary school and from any
colleges/universities attended. Applicant must
be a high school/secondary school graduate. If
the documents are not in English, an official
translation must accompany all transcripts,
certificates, and diplomas. No photocopies are
accepted.

Submit proof of financial support showing that
your tuition and living expenses will be paid.
We estimate that you will need a minimum of
$16,000 per year. Documents needed:

The LATTC
Affidavit of
Support (pdf) signed by your
sponsor. If you are supporting yourself,
you may fill out the form.

An official bank statement or letter from a
bank official confirming you or your
sponsor's financial standing, or a statement
from a government agency granting the
support. All bank statements must be
notarized and dated within the last 6
months. Please be certain that the currency
is shown in
US dollars
and that the balance of the account is
listed on the document. No photocopies are
accepted.

Submit a non-refundable application fee of $35.00
in the form of an International Money Order or a
check drawn from a U.S. bank. If you are in the
United States, you may visit our office and pay
in cash (do not send cash through the mail).
Contact us directly if you need to make another
arrangement.

Although it is not mandatory, it is highly
recommended that you submit a letter of
recommendation from a teacher, counselor,
professor or employer.
**Please note that once you submit your application
materials to LATTC, they become the property of the
college. They will not be returned to you.
If you are currently attending another college
and/or university in the United States, we also ask
you to:

Submit a Los Angeles Trade-Technical College "Notice
of Intent to Transfer (pdf)" form
completed by the school you are currently
attending.

Submit official transcripts from all colleges
and/or universities you have attended in the
United States.

Please send another set of official
transcripts directly to our Admissions &
Records Office if you would like your
courses evaluated for transfer eligibility
(Attention: Admissions & Records –
Transcripts)

Submit copies of your visa and the front & back
of your I-94.

Submit copies of your current I-20 (pages 1 and
3).
Full-coverage health insurance requirement
information:
Once you are enrolled as a student, you will be
required to apply for Scholastic Insurance (Blue
Cross). Health care in the United States can be
costly without proper health insurance so purchasing
this plan is for your protection. F-1 International
Students must have full-coverage health insurance
for the duration of their stay in the U.S. The cost
is $420 every six months (or $840 for the entire
year). Please note that the $420 will be included
as part of your tuition bill every Fall and Spring
Semester. Policy brochures are available in our
office.
Additional information:
Please allow 2 – 4 days for application processing
time once ALL documents are received by the
college. Eligible students will be issued an I-20A
form by LATTC. This document can be used by the
student to obtain an F-1 Visa from a U.S. Embassy in
his/her home country.* Students who are already in
the country may use this new I-20 to change their
visa status or to complete their transfer process
from another educational institution. Please
contact us if you have any questions.
