LFSA The Latinx Faculty and Staff Association will hold its third event culminating the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. We will be welcoming our chancellor Dr. Francisco Rodriguez to the South Tent on Wednesday September 26th at 11:30am. Not only will we hear from the chancellor, but the band Guvie Malito and Dirty Harvard Band will perform. Taco Taxi will be available for some great food, and the LFSA will be announcing the student essay winner as well as giving away two major raffle prizes. We need students and employees to come out and support this event. Please make plans to attend. Everyone is invited, everyone is welcome.
If you didn’t get a chance to stop by last week’s LFSA events, there was some great entertainment, food and speeches. Last Tuesday, the celebration kicked off with a great discussion between former FoxLA News reporter Tony Valdez and our own David Ysais, about Latinos in the news media and how that shaped Los Angeles. The day also included Aztec dancers. Then Wednesday there was a great concert by mariachis with LFSA president Olga Garcia, singing a few songs with the group. It was quite a special moment. So we expect this week’s event to be extra special as well.
