CARES Distribution

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College signed the Department of Education Certification and Agreement for receipt of CARES Act funding and was allocated $5,124,229.00 of which $2,562,115.00 was designated for distribution to students in direct aid. Direct aid is intended for students whose lives were adversely impacted by the coronavirus and must be used for expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, healthcare, and childcare.

The college prioritized students with identified financial need for CARES Act funding and established the following criteria for receipt of an award:

a. Enrolled in the spring 2020 semester
b. Eligible for California Promise Grant
c. Not enrolled exclusively in online courses

5671 students met these criteria and were provided with a $452 award and 611 students were provided with a $300 award, amounting to a total distribution of $2,745,092.00. Students were notified of their award via email and funds were distributed to them through their Bank Mobile accounts.

The remaining $2,379,137.00 in CARES funds were utilized as follows:

  • Supplies & Materials - $107,218.08
  • Student Grants - $80,700.00

Update:
Unclaimed HEERF1 funds were redistributed to students who met the qualifications below:

  • Title IV eligible (Pell eligible students prioritized)
  • Enrolled for Spring '21 term

454 student grants @ $365 from the student portion = $165,710
2785 student grants @ $365 from the institutional portion = $1,016,525

CRRSAA (HEERF II) Districtwide Student Eligibility Criteria

Los Angeles Trade-Technical College was allocated $5,124,229.00 of which $2,562,115.00 was designated for distribution to students in direct aid.   • Active for Spring 2021 at home school (at time of determination - March 8, 2021)
  • CCPG awarded

4787 students met these criteria and were provided with a $500 award amounting to a total distribution of $2,393,500.00. Students were notified of their award via email and funds were distributed to them through their Bank Mobile accounts.

HEERF III Distribution
Los Angeles Trade-Technical College has distributed $5,595,750 to 4,643 students.
